Exercise - Diabeteasy

Even though I thought I was more active than most of my fellow T2 diabetics, it turns out I was likely fooling myself.

I had used pedometers in the past and thought I "knew" about how much activity equaled 10,000 steps a day. I wasn't even getting close to that despite running around for work and taking my dogs to the park daily.

With all the doctor visits, supplies and prescriptions, I wanted a cheap or free pedometer. (It really does help if you have an actual step count you can look at and be accountable to).

There are $5 pedometers at the major brick and mortar stores, but it was another thing for me to remember to take with me these days (along with glucose testing kit, glucose, meds, medical alert bracelet, and my ever present "emergency turkey jerky" when I need a quick snack to avoid dipping).

Checking out the iTunes App store, I found several exercise and pedometer Apps.

My favorite, Pedometer FREE GPS+ is absolutely free. It tracks your steps, heart rate, calories burned, speed and distance (just remember to press Stop when you are driving). There's no mandatory registration, either.

Visit the main website here or check it out in iTunes.

It was storming here today, so I did 8,000 steps when I was at Costco walking a continuous loop along the perimeter of the store! Where there's a will...
